His All-Holiness Bartholomeos I has been accepted as a member of the prestigious Académie Française, one of the world’s most distinguished institutions in the fields of language and culture.

We attach great importance to this recognition and express our sincere gratitude to Patriarch Bartholomew for bringing such honor to our nation.” The official induction ceremony of Patriarch Bartholomew will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, in the afternoon at the Institut de France. On the same day, he will be received by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu.
